Madeline Merchant
An unusual woman named Madeline Gwynne Merchant played a strange role in the Green Fireball affair. Evidently an artistic "free spirit," she lived an outdoor life, traveling, prospecting and writing throughout New Mexico.
Merchant's husband's sister was a secretary in the office of Los Alamos security chief Sidney Newberger, and because of this connection Newberger was well aware of her theories.
