The Project Y "Spade" or "Omega" full-scale mockup, circa the second half of 1952
The mockup is shown above arranged in its vertical takeoff attitude, supported by a wheeled strut that retracts into the dorsal (top side) fairing behind the cockpit. It is unclear whether the underside fairing contained a similar strut.
